Net Consulting hosted its second annual corporate golf day on the 5th of September 2018, welcoming customers and partners to the Roman Road course at the Celtic Manor Resort in Newport.
The competition was fierce as 32 golfers battled it out for the chance to take home this year’s trophy under clear blue skies, enjoying what will likely be the last of this year’s sun. After 18 holes, there was little to separate the top five golfers who each scored over 30 points. There could only be one winner though, and the top honours went to Tom Hogan from BMC who scored a very impressive 35 points off a handicap of 13.
Other prize holes included nearest to the pin on the 7th, and longest drive on the 18th. John Rees who came within two feet of the hole to win the nearest the pin competition and Net Consulting’s own Pete Ford drove his ball over 300 yards, landing it in the middle of the fairway to claim the longest drive prize. Pete also came within four feet of winning the hole in one competition on the 14th, narrowly missing out on his chance to win an Audi A7.
Prizes were awarded during a ceremony over a delicious three course dinner, which also included a mention of our work with local charity, Latch. Latch provides support to children and the families of children who’ve been diagnosed with cancer or leukaemia, and our guests gave generously to the cause, with donations made following the speech totalling £310.
All in all the event was a great success, and plans are already underway for next year’s event. We’d like to thank our partners Riverbed, Juniper and Gigamon for helping us host such a wonderful day, and Behind The Lens Media for putting together the highlights video below.
